Coach Steve “The Bear” Sheppard

Steve Sheppard

Coach Sheppard will serve as Associate Director of the camp. Coach Sheppard, an All-ACC player at the University of MD, participated on the United States national basketball team, which won a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics. Sheppard went on to play in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons, and then spent 3 years in Italy, as one of the first Americans to play overseas. Coach Sheppard has coached and mentored area youths for over 30 years and has assisted coach Glick with camp since 2000. Coach Sheppard and his wife of 35 years, Remy, have one child-Steve Jr. (33).

Coach Spencer Way III (Trey)

Spencer Way

Coach Trey, the current Head Coach at LaPlata High School, spent nine seasons as Coach Glick's Head JV Boys Basketball Coach and Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Gwynn Park High School, will serve as Associate Director of the camp.  Coach Trey played collegiately at St. Mary’s College where he graduated in 2007 with a BS in Political Science.  An excellent teacher of the game, developer of fundamentals and motivator, Coach Trey is regarded as one of the top up and coming coaches in the Mid-Atlantic area. He also coaches AAU basketball with Team Takeover & is married to Shanae Way.

Coach Dave McNeill

Coach McNeill, who has completed his fifth second season as the Head Boys JV Basketball Coach at Meade High School, will serve as Associate Director of the camp. Previously, he was Varsity assistant at Meade where the Mustangs captured the 2015 Maryland 4A State championship. A lifelong native of Anne Arundel County, Coach McNeill played at Meade and was a 2012 graduate.

Rudy Gay Speaking at Camp

There will be several guest speakers during the camp week. Our goal is to bring in some of the finest basketball players and coaches in the area, who will provide insight into the fundamentals taught during the week.

St. Mary’s); and many more.
